If your dancer is ready to take their passion to the next level, auditioning for Adrenaline Rush, our award-winning competition team is a thrilling step forward! Whether you're a returning student or exploring the competitive dance world for the first time, this post will help you understand exactly what to expect—and how to prepare.
💥 Why Join Our Adrenaline RUSH Competition Team?
Being part of our competition team means:
Training with passionate, professional instructors
Performing at regional and national events
Building teamwork, confidence, and lifelong friendships
Growing as both a dancer and an individual
📆 When and Where Are Auditions?
Auditions are typically held in June for the upcoming dance season, which runs from fall to spring. Exact dates and times will be posted on our Competition Team page and shared via email and social media.

📍 Location:
Adrenaline Dance of York
2709 S. Queen St.
Suite 9
York, PA 17403
👯♀️ Who Can Audition?
We welcome dancers ages 4 and up, with experience in styles like ballet, jazz, tap, hip hop, or contemporary / lyrical. Whether you're a beginner with potential or a seasoned performer, we place dancers in groups where they’ll be challenged and inspired.
👟 What Should Dancers Bring?
Dance shoes (ballet, jazz, tap, etc.—bring what you have)
Comfortable dancewear (form-fitting preferred)
Hair pulled back neatly
A bottle of water
Positive energy!
In each set of auditions, dancers will be expected to show technique across the floor/in the center, learn a combination in a big group setting, and perform the choreography for a set of judges/coaches in smaller groups. The audition prep classes walk the dancers through exactly what to expect at auditions and are highly recommended:
Technique & musicality
Ability to learn quickly
Performance quality
Attitude & focus
💡 No solos are required for initial auditions.
💬 What Happens After Auditions?
After Nationals, families will receive placement emails with:
Team/level assignment
Weekly rehearsal schedule
Estimated costs and competition dates
Date with parent meeting
Our instructors are thoughtful in their placements to ensure dancers grow while enjoying the experience.
🎉 Final Thoughts
Auditioning for our competition team is about more than just dancing—it’s about dedication, growth, and community. We’re looking for students who are excited to work hard, support their teammates, and shine on stage.
